Tighten your skin with laser technology
As we age our skin loses its vitality. Our skin cells begin to thin, with every decade the number of cells decreasing by 10%, making it more difficult for harm to be repaired. As time goes on, our skin produces less collagen, creating wrinkles and old-looking, sagging skin.
But now the effects of time can be reversed by the professionals at Estetica with the new GentleMax skin tightening treatment, a break-through innovation in laser technology that can tighten the skin in just 30 minutes, with no need for surgery. It’s so advanced, there’s no recovery time. Read on to find out more.
How does it work?
GentleMax shines a high-intensity laser beam deep into the skin tissue, delivering a tightly controlled burst of therapeutic heat to the target area, while the patented Dynamic Cooling Device protects the upper layers of skin with a gust of cooling cryogen. Together, the long-pulse laser and DCD offer optimal treatment with minimal side effects.
What can I expect during treatment?
Of course, safety is paramount. Treatment will take place in the secure surroundings of Estetica’s offices. Your eyes will be shielded form the laser with specialist eyewear and each pulse of the laser, directed by your practitioner with a small hand-piece, will be followed and preceded by a burst of cooling spray. A treatment usually takes between 30 to 45 minutes.
Does it hurt?
Some patients may feel a slight discomfort with each laser pulse, sometimes described as being akin to the snapping of a rubber band on the skin. This discomfort disappears in a matter of seconds. For all patients a topical anaesthetic is used prior to treatment. Your practitioner is available to answer any questions you have about the procedure.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients require between four and six sessions, but the number will depend on the type of treatment you need and the condition of your skin.
How do I prepare for treatment?
Your skin should be thoroughly cleansed and dried, removing any makeup, creams, oils, topical anaesthetics or self-tanning products before laser treatment. Patients should not have a sun tan on the intended treatment area. If you have had a history of perioral herpes, prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed.
What precautions should I take after treatment?
Following treatment, patients should take care to avoid exposure to the sun, wearing sun-block, factor 30 or above. Your practitioner may advise additional precautions.
Are there side effects?
The risks are minimal. Most patients experience a short-lived pink glow with a mild sunburn sensation after treatment.
